What to bring, and what NOT to bring to Desert Camp

For those of you who wish to add to your list upon arrival, we have included some typical pricing from our local store
Clothes & Accessories
__ Rain poncho or rain coat (optional) ($6 Wal-Mart)
__ Jeans or similar
__ Undershorts
__ T-shirts
__ Shorts
__ Socks
__ Long sleeved shirt
__ Warm sweater or fleece jumper
__ Warm coat
__ Vest/waistcoat (optional)
__ 2 pr hiking boots / sneakers (bring 2 pairs in case of a bad thing happening)
__ Something to sleep in
__ Sun hat and a warm hat
__ Leather work gloves ($10 - $20 Wal-Mart)
__ Small pack for when hiking
__ Clean clothes to wear home (optional)
__ Drum or other ceremonial items as desired
__ Cigarette rolling tobacco, papers & lighter(s)
__ Personal toiletries:  toothbrush & toothpaste, hair brush/comb, biodegradable skin soap, razor/shaving supplies, unscented deodorant, etc.  Ladies, moontime supplies with zip lock bag for each.  NO perfume, hair spray, make-up, scented deodorant, etc.
__ Prescription medicines (must be disclosed with registration)

Camping Particulars
 __ Tent ($30 - $40 Wal-Mart)
__ Ground cloth for under tent ($10 Wal-Mart)
__ Sleeping bag ($10 - $50 Wal-Mart)
__ Sleeping pad ($10 - $30 Wal-Mart)
__ Hunting or folding knife ($20 Wal-Mart)
__ Food and snacks (make a menu for yourself prior to shopping at supermarket)
__ Wool / warm blanket (yes, in addition to sleeping bag)

 __ Flashlight and batteries and extra batteries ($6+ Wal-Mart. Batteries approx. $6 pkg)
__ Insect repellant, sun screen (both optional, but recommended!  Try to get least smelly)
__ Pillow (optional) (they cost from about $6 upwards from Wal-Mart)
__ Towel & wash cloth (flannel) ($10 Wal-Mart)
__ Canteen or water container (for going hiking) ($6 Wal-Mart)
__ Camera and film (optional)
__ Notebook and pen (optional)
__ Compass

Don't Bring
 - NO electronic devices, alcohol or drugs
- NO pets
- NO cigarettes.  Hand-rolls are OK.

 __ Cooking stove and sufficient fuel ($35 - $55 Wal-Mart and $2 per fuel canister). Typical fuel supply is 1/2 canister per person per day
__ Stand for stove (optional) ($30 Wal-Mart)
__ Kitchen stuff (dishes, pots and pans, silverware, washing up bowl, biodegradable dish soap, etc) (5 piece camping pots/pan set $17 Wal-Mart)
__ Water containers ($6 Wal-Mart for the large 5 gallon. We estimate 2 gallons per person per day for drinking, washing, etc.)
__ Small folding table (optional) ($30 Wal-Mart)
__ Lantern & fuel (optional) ($15 - $30 Wal-Mart)
__ Solar shower (optional, approx $20)
__ Cooler for meat / milk / fruit food storage ($11 - $25 Wal-Mart)
